Beacon of Hope, Dream and success of BEN AND BEN

The story of Ben & Ben began with the duo twins, Benjamins. Paolo Benjamin Guico and Miguel Benjamin Guico. In the year 2016, their journey began when they became recording artists for their debut but they needed more musicians in order for them to record. They asked the people who they worked with over the years to be the instrumentalists and form a band. These instrumentalists include Poch Barreto as the electric guitar player, Agnes Reoma as the bass player, Keifer Cabugao as the violinist, Patricia Lasaten as the keyboardist, Jam Villanueva as the drummer, Andrew De Pano and Toni Muñoz for the percussion.
The band released their single “Kathang Isip” which became a huge success and was the most streamed Filipino song of 2018 with 75 million streams on Spotify. This is a song which tells a story that a lot of people would be able to relate to.
What sets Ben & Ben apart from the other OPM competitors is their music is intergenerational, and it can apply to any situation a fan is going through. Moreover, unlike in other bands, each member of Ben & Ben has a pivotal role to play, thus contributing something to the band as a whole. Thus, the band functions as a team which leads to music that ends up being played on various radio stations across the nation. Their road to success began at this moment when they released their album: “Limasawa Street” on their second anniversary. It has always been a dream for them to release an album. Through this album, it introduces a spectrum story of the real Ben & Ben. The dedication and cooperation of all the members were present in order to produce a perfectly harmonized meter and emotional wavelength. The story behind the success of this album is an illumination of art and the story of friendship amongst Ben & Ben members.
They truly are passionate when it comes to music since they were able to work on the songs together and finished it in a week. When they were producing the songs, every moment was magical that would just seem like it’s just a dream but it will eventually come alive.Their album “Limasawa” is derived from “masawa”, the Butuanon word for “light”. This light embodies a beacon of hope through music, especially when a person encounters struggles and difficulties. This album title track takes us through the band’s journey that would give us the chills and mix of emotions of what a person experiences through love.
Ben & Ben have already won the hearts of the people and has given their fandom a brighter and hopeful place. They have touched people’s hearts through their songs and the sounds of the instruments are equal and well- balanced since you will be able to hear all of the members and no one can take it away from them.
